Angela with her very beautiful and proud family.

Angela came to the Arthouse with a gift certificate that her family had purchased for her. She had been dabbling in painting independently for only a few months. Reusing old canvas from the goodwill for practice, painting fruit and other objects. Angela was so excited to have instruction... she had so much fun with this painting, taking it home to work on each week and she is now continuing onto our intermediate painting class. It just shows you how far a little passion and ambition can take you.

Art Show Sunday Evening April 24th

The Arthouse is having a Student Exhibit Sunday evening 7-8:30pm. If you're interested in seeing what the arthouse classes are all about, now is your chance to meet some students and the teachers, talk about their work and enjoy their company. We always have a great time, we'll serve light refreshments and have a little party to celebrate the accomplishments of our students. Please come and meet us and enjoy your Easter evening talking about art and creativity!

Sculpture and Clay class projects

The Jamieson's are a family of artists and art lovers, which means they make art at least 12 hours a day. This is a picture of our entire family (even Gustav the art dog) constructing one of William Jamieson's famous Abstract Expressionist ceramic sculptures. Michelle Spitz from http://www.2pedalsphotography.com/ took this lovely shot, and sooner than later I'll share some more of her insight into our personal world at the Arthouse. Yes, we do live here and no I never get tired of making art, although my six year old daughter would sometimes rather eat worms...
These are some past students glazing their ceramic hand built sculptures, preparing them for a firing.
In our Clay and sculpture classes the students learn to make pinch pots, coil, slab cups and other 3dimenisional structures they are interested in.

These are the houses made from slabs of clay, they are leather hard...not quite dry enough to fire.

The students get to spend an hour and a half on their projects. During our school year sessions we meet once a week. Although, we are coming up to our summer camps. We'll have 4 sessions and each session we meet 4 times a week. This will be a great time to do very detailed work in clay and sculpture.
Last week it was nice enough to work outside! So, the students built abstract architecture type structures.

We have our classes in all ages, as you can see we have some early teen mixed with younger youth students. They work together solving problems and creating beautiful works of art.

A little collaboration and a lot of fun.

Arthouse Mural Painting

We've started our mural in Old Town Noblesville, hoping to jump start a new theme of public art downtown. We've only just begun, so if you had a hand in the design please keep in contact we'll be painting everyday it's sunny and bright!
I've had several people ask me the meaning to this piece. I have to say life and creativity. This purple woman is blowing, whispering color and creativity, which is stirring up waves...
There is another face on the opposite side which is also blowing Art, sharing the love.

I'm hoping that it has different meanings and inspiring thoughts to everyone. If you'd like to see this in person it's off 8th between Hannible and Division, Noblesville In 46060.
