Arthouse

My photo
arthouse as our house
195 s 10th st, Noblesville, Indiana, United States
The sign prominently placed in front of the restored Italianate home at the corner of 10th and Cherry Streets evokes a sense of whimsy and curiosity as to what this new artists’ space is all about. It’s called simply arthouse, and it’s where “art lives and grows.”

Arthouse Misssion

Arthouse Misssion
William and Kandi Jamieson opened their home as Arthouse May 2010. The Jamiesons are both Art graduates from Boise State, William in Ceramics and Kandi in Painting. “We just want to have a great place where anybody can come and make art, like real un- abashed, uninhibited expression.” Arthouse is fast becoming the new home for art in Noblesville. Our mission is to enrich our community through art by offering a variety of art classes and exhibiting work. We open our doors to the community to share the joy in making new friends, creating art, and communicating through visual language.

The Arthouse Family

The Arthouse Family
William and Kandi Jamieson are both artists and parents. They live in the upstairs of the arthouse and teach and create in the downstairs studio spaces. Their daughter Elizabeth is 10 and son William is 6 years old. It's their dream to share creativity and the love of a visual and Universial language.

William Jamieson

William Jamieson
I am attempting to break free of traditions while questioning the values of form and functionality in our society. I boldly use an expressive hand building technique of construction, destruction and repair. An emphasis is placed on spontaneity, ambiguity and working intuitively. I enjoy split second decision making and letting the work take its own shape. My construction technique is learned from my many years experience bricklaying in Indianapolis. Bonding clay slabs, chunks of earth, or found material, I stack, form and manipulate sometimes thousands of pieces into one final form. The result is a collage of image and texture, expressive and energetic.

Kandi teaches most of the children's painting and mixed media classes. Her medium of preference is paint, but loves to make art from anything. BFA in Painting and Drawing at BSU
